I am Dedric, a Clinical Social Worker with a Masters of Social Work degree from Western New Mexico University. I began working in the mental health field as a clinical assistant at The OCD Anxiety Treatment Center, and have since developed my education and credentials to have practiced therapy in both IOP and out-patient private practice settings over the last four years. Over this time I have specialized in areas such as OCD, depression and anxiety, panic disorder, PTSD, and life adjustments.

Outside of this work, I have also spent time volunteering as a moderator for online peer groups seeking support for OCD and specific phobias; as well as mentoring and coaching youth and adolescents as a high school football coach. Throughout my years in the mental health field and practicing psychotherapy I have developed expertise in modalities such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), motivational interviewing, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).

In addition to holding a value in continuing education and ethical practice, I am also an active participant in my own individual psychotherapy in an effort to build and sustain personal growth as well as further my understanding of how to best serve the populations I work with in my own practice.

When not in the office I am likely to be spending time with my niece and nephews, exercising or playing sports, creating music, or participating in community events to support and advocate for marginalized populations throughout the local community and beyond.

Seeking out professional care and support can often be an intimidating step to take in striving for the betterment of personal well-being and I commend you for the courage in taking such initiative. My job will always be to meet my client's where they are at to be able to collaborate with them in using their personal insights and my knowledge and experience to assist them in building a capacity of self-determination that can help them reach their therapeutic goals.
